Epiphany

One of the wonders of Deep Creek is an area in the gorge where vents and pulses in the basalt bedrock have been exposed, with extraordinary fissures, crystals, and vent-like opening. In this spot, it really seemed like the earth had something it wanted to say to me. And maybe it was just Happy Birthday, since I’d turned 60 the day before.
