String Theory

What I remember most about the December day I took this photo is that my son, Devin, followed a couple mule deer out into the frozen sage and found a sprawling herd that we watched in awe. I noticed this pattern in the ice on one of the lakes in the area, and the way the colors shimmered and seemed to be magnified by the ice.
